Coaching On Business Planning For The Rest Of Us [Part 3]
By Allison Babb
Marketing Plan: What is your
marketing plan (how will you attract customers and clients?)
Plan on having several ways to market your business in order to
create a steady stream of clients and customers. What marketing
options do you need to implement to produce the number of clients
and the financial goal you set for your business. Otherwise, you're
at risk for being in "feast or famine" land where some days you have customers and
other days not.
Tracking: How will you
measure that you being successful? You must have some sort of
system in place to measure sales vs expenses so that you can clearly
see if your business is being successful. This probably means
getting Quickbooks set up and also a system for tracking sales and
results. If your business is online, then you'll need an online
shopping cart system that accepts credit cards.
The
shopping cart system I use is
the best one out there as far as I know.
Tracking is also required for your
marketing. How will you know whether one marketing option is working
vs others that may not be effective?
With this short and simple business plan list, you should be well on
your way to getting your business going for the first time or
planning for each year. This is, of course,
presuming that you have the funds to get started. If you need
funds, then you'll need to learn about options for getting funding
to start your business.
