Coaching On Conquering Fear

One of my subscribers wrote in to
share that she finds prospects very easily which is excellent.
But following up is, for some reason, much more challenging.
Like many entrepreneurs, she follows up with her prospects by
phone. And at the moment of that follow-up phone call, the phone
seems to weigh 100 pounds. It becomes SO hard to bring herself
to accomplish this task.
Why is it so difficult? And how can she conquer the internal
fear that grips her and that undermines her success in this
area? Here are my 5 tips to help conquer the fear:
What's the FEAR, really:
A lot of times, what stops us from stepping into success is
F.E.A.R: False Experiences Appearing Real. More often than
not, our fears are WAY bigger than what's likely to happen.
But we replay the fearful outcomes so many times in our mind
that we begin to believe they are real and we stop ourselves
completely.
Step into the "so what": I'd say when
you are getting ready to make those calls, as yourself "so what" for every fear that comes up. What if
they say they don't want what I have to offer? Play that
scenario all the way out. So they say no, then what will
happen next? What's the worst that could happen, really?
And if that did happen, what would you do? How could you
learn from the experience and become even more determined
and successful?
So play out the entire scenario in your head, and you may
find that what stops you isn't really that big at all. And
then take action. Remember, action stops fear.
Feel the fear and do it anyway and you may find that it
becomes easier each time you take action. Embrace failure
as a teacher - tweak your next call based on what you
learned from the last one. Choose to grow.
