Coaching On Conquering Fear [Cont'd]

It's not about you: I've embraced the
reality that in my business, what I offer to people is not
about me. It's about my genuine desire to help others
achieve success. Sometimes we make it all about us and what
happens to us and that's when fear takes over. It's the
possibility of getting rejected, the possibility of getting
a "no", the possibility of a lost sale. It's all about us
and what's happening to us in the sales process. Instead, I
would...
Focus on giving: I have a little sign on my
computer that says “Business is about GIVING, not getting.
Getting is a side effect of giving.” It reminds me to stay
focus on why I chose to do this. I'm in business to help
others. And it's why I enjoy what I do. Indeed sales is how
my business stays alive. But I focus on what I'm giving vs
what I'm getting (or not getting).
If you are truly passionate about what you offer people, and
you truly believe it will help them, then I'd encourage you
to make THAT the focus of your follow-up phone calls. You
are simply sharing exciting and valuable opportunities with
others through your products, services and resources.
Envision success: Anyone that has been
enormously successful will tell you that they envisioned
that very success long before it actually happened. It's
more than just positive affirmations. It's an experience.
You experience it emotionally before it even happens. With
gratitude and expectation, you know success is yours. It
feels so real right now that it's like it has already
happened. And you act as if it already has. That's when you
begin to attract success. You can read encouraging words,
memorize it, verbalize it, etc. But it's way different when
you choose to experience it now.
