 How did you become an expert on
Small Business success?
No
doubt, it was an interesting journey. I'm 44 years old now
and I look back and still can't believe that, as a single parent
with 2 kids, I actually quit my 6-figure senior management job
to become self-employed.
I
tell people if a single parent (with no backup paycheck) can
take the self-employment leap and succeed at it, you can too!
Here's the thing. My
first business was actually Life Coaching. I had no clue how to run
a business. It didn't get very far. Thankfully, I
still had my day job. My second business was Executive
Coaching & Leadership training, and that did pretty well. I
took my natural leadership talent and developed workshops and
taught hundreds of managers leadership skills and workplace
communication.
I later created
GoodbyeCorporateJob.com when people started
asking me how to do what I did (quit the corporate world and
become self-employed). As word spread about
GoodbyeCorporateJob.com, I got on radio shows and got coverage
in newspapers and other
publications as the "Paycheck Addiction Therapist" :-)
Very soon, established small business owners around the world
started coming to me for coaching. So I expanded my
business to Allison Babb International LLC and launched
GreatSmallBusinessAdvice.com where I'm
now mentoring both experienced small
business owners as well as new entrepreneurs.
My
expertise came from my determination to succeed as an
entrepreneur. I was a single parent and failure was simply
not an option. So I hired 6 &
7-figure entrepreneurs to coach me on how to become successful. I attended their workshops, bought their
products, and signed up for their 1-on-1 coaching - all to the tune of
well over $200K of my own money.
But
it was well worth it. I got everything I needed to create
a successful thriving business and that's what I teach others
today. Not everyone can spend 6-figures learning the ropes
to self employment success and after a while, I kept getting
more and more requests to pass along what I
learned.

Who are your typical clients?
The
majority of my clients are solo-entrepreneurs and independent
professionals and also owners of pretty small businesses. They come to me because they never really
learned how to market their business to bring in a steady stream
of clients and a consistent income.
I've worked with quite a range of self employed
professionals a few of

How are you
different from other Small Business Coaches?
Well, in a few of ways. First, I work only with
solo-entrepreneurs or very small businesses. This means
that I do not work with mid-sized and large companies and I am
focused on what really works for very small businesses.
That's my area of expertise and you can be confident that I will
deliver what I promised.
And
secondly, I'm the only Business Coach with The

What this means to you is that I am not randomly trying to
address the concerns or challenges you have. Through
experience I have a systematic approach that works!
And
third, I like to show business owners the fast path to success -
using powerful client-magnetic strategies to implement so that clients are
chasing after you vs you chasing after them.
And
finally, I focus on
systematic processes all the way through coaching a client
so that business comes to them as quickly and as effortlessly as
possible.

What is expected of me when I work with
you?
My
workshops, products and coaching programs are created specifically for
people who are are dead serious about creating a steady stream of
clients and enormous success for their small businesses.
My
systems were created for you to achieve the results you want
(more clients and more income!) as quickly as possible. I
work best with people who are
incredibly action oriented and
they do not make excuses for not getting things done. They are
typically high achievers and they take a no-nonsense approach to
success.
They are hungry for the strategies that create success and they
are 100% committed to the time and effort required for
getting there. They don't need to be prodded into action
as are naturally curious about the tools for success and they
have a strong determination to achieve the life they desire.

Who will your
coaching programs NOT work for?
That's a good question because I'll freely admit that I'm not the right business
coach for every solo entrepreneur. I'll also admit that I am VERY selective
about
who I work with.
I choose to turn away people who are just
not a match for what I offer because it just would not be fair
to them. I'm simply not willing to take someone's money
when I know fully well they won't get the results they're paying
me for.
Without exception, I do not work with people who are whiners,
complainers and chronic skeptics, people who constantly make
excuses for not getting things done, and people who challenge
every aspect of what is presented to them. If that's you,
I respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand
why. We probably won't work well together and that just
wouldn't be fair to you.
The
other category is if you have no money coming in and you are in
a financially desperate situation, my coaching is probably not
the place to start. That's because financial crisis
creates a tremendous amount of worry and when you are in that
mindset, it's difficult to listen to or trust what the next step
needs to be. Also, in a financially desperate situation,
your own potential clients pick up on your internal struggle for money and you
are unlikely to attract your ideal clients in that type of
situation. Also you simply cannot create a successful
business without funds for marketing.
If
you're in this category I
would recommend that you:

Get a full-time or part
time job to create the income you need to reduce the worry
and fund your business. Reducing the worry will help
you to think more clearly about building a successful
business. At that point, you can put your self
employment goals into action again. When you see the clients
start coming in, you can begin to think about reducing your
hours at the job and begin to transition to full time self
employment.
