Business NOT As Usual

An Live Event for Solo Entrepreneurs to Give BIG and Receive BIG!

Thursday October 29, 2009

at the Ravinia Club (Across from Perimeter Mall)

8am to 5:45pm

It's Allison Babb here, and I'm excited to share the details of this unprecedented event with you.  I'm a big fan of skipping the fluff and getting right to it, so here we go!  :-)

What is this event about?

This blockbuster event is a unique blend of both businesses giving to each other and also businesses giving to a charity.

On Thursday October 29, 2009, GreatSmallBusinessAdvice.com, eWomen Network of Atlanta, ANI Creative along with several other small business owners will host a full day of business development workshops called “Small Businesses Giving  BIG!”

In our current economic times, this is sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime event attracting a swarm of small business owners in and around Atlanta.

As an attendee, you get to attend FREE revenue-boosting workshops and receive coaching/advice from experts who have created success for others just like you!   You will be behind closed doors uncovering the success strategies for:

  • Magnetic client attraction (how clients come to YOU vs. you chasing after them!)

  • Money-making marketing ideas (on a bootstrapping budget so you don't break the bank)

  • Converting prospects into paying clients (so that prospects stop slipping through your fingers)

  • How to get clients and sales with social networking (a must-have for any entrepreneur right now)

  • Making sales through your web site (if your web site is underperforming, grab a seat at this one)

  • Attracting referrals like a magnet (so that business freely comes your way through others)

  • How to respond current economic shifts (both emotionally, mentally and with business tactics)

  • How to be a savvy networker (if your networking is not working, this one's for you)

And much more!

And here's the best part...  To get a seat at this event, all you need to do is bring a donation for a local charity called "My sister's House."   No cash required - just bring a donation.  We'll tell you more about donations later on.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, My Sister’s House is a division of Atlanta Union Mission.  It is a  charity that caters to women in transition including single parent families headed by mothers.  They provide emergency shelter, meals, personal care items, and clothing to those in need.  They also provide life skills and parenting classes and they serve numerous counties here in Georgia. (You'll understand why I chose this charity in a minute.)

What's Unique About This Event?

Now, you're probably wondering...

How Could This Possibly Be FREE?

I'd be asking the same question if I were in your shoes.  So here's why...  I've been fortunate enough to rally together a group of extraordinary business owners who emphatically said "YES!" when we asked for help in pulling off this grand event.

These business owners are donating their time, their expertise, and their resources with the ultimate goal of giving B-I-G to My Sister's House.  Also, in recognition our challenging economic times, they are excited to participate in this very unique event where they can share their secrets strategies and expertise with fellow solopreneurs.  In short, we're all banding together to reverse the negativity and make our businesses thrive in our current economy.

And by the way, this is most definitely not speakers doing a 45min sales pitch for their products and services.  Our speakers whole-heartedly committed to giving you rich, actionable content... stuff you can go home and immediately use in your business.

I don't know if I could ever get this group of folks together like this again, so you'd want to be sure you get a seat at this event!  But before we talk about how you can reserve your seat, we should probably clarify...

Who is this event for...

Our expert speakers were specially chosen with the specific needs and challenges of solo entrepreneurs who sell a professional service.  This event is definitely for you if:

  • You sell a professional service (coaches, consultants, speakers, financial advisors, trainers, lawyers, professional organizers, and any others who sell a professional service)

  • You are flying solo running a business or you own a micro business with just a small handful of employees. (let's get you out of that home office and out meeting other fabulous solopreneurs)

  • You can use some expert advice and help on attracting more clients in this economy. (this is your chance to pause on working IN your business and get some lucrative strategies for working ON your business)

  • You want to uncover hidden revenue-producing opportunities in your business.

  • You crave easy, low-cost and no-cost marketing strategies for your  business.

  • You want specific actions you can take to increase your revenue immediately

Why Solo Entrepreneurs?

Who is Allison Babb and Why this event?

Great question!  (more on who I am in a second).  There are two reasons for this event.  A more personal reason and a business reason.

Here's the short version of the personal story that's connected to My Sister's House.  Several years ago, I unexpectedly found myself facing divorce and single parenting.  I'm a 44yr old single mom of 2 sons here in Atlanta.

Ironically, this unfortunate life event led to me starting a single parent support group at my church.  It was then I became aware the many complex challenges that single moms face.  As single parent families, they banded together to battle the odds almost daily – financially, emotionally, and otherwise.

Sometimes they won the battle, other times not.  But once a month, this group of single moms were all at my home.  I served a great big meal, we shared stories and supported each other, studied video lessons on parenting and life skills for our single parenting journeys.  I led this single parent group for 5 years before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia.  But my passion for supporting single moms stayed with me. I'm

I am self-employed as a Business Success Coach to solo entrepreneurs at GreatSmallBusinessAdvice.com.  For quite some time I’ve had a secret heartfelt vision to merge my business life and my desire to support single moms and women in transition.  Nudged by our current economic conditions, this coming October, I’m excited that I’ll finally be doing exactly that.

And here's the other BIG reason...

Folks, I don't know about you but in my work as a small business coach, I see 3 entrepreneurial camps in the midst of this shifting economy...

  • Those who give up, throw in the towel and close their doors for good (sadly, this doesn't have to be)

  • Those who do nothing differently... and they hope and pray they make it (not a good plan right now)

  • Those who have an unrelenting, deep hunger for information on keeping their businesses alive and thriving despite this economy...  they seek out opportunity and new solutions!  (now that's my kind of entrepreneur...  high-five to you! :-) )

And if you're reading this, you're probably in camp #3 above as well...  You are gifted, talented, and passionate about what you do in this world through your business... and you have unrelenting, foot-stomping, unstoppable determination to succeed.

The solo entrepreneurs at this event are no doubt in camp #3 above...   And watch out...  we're about to rock the solopreneur world...

One hundred strong.... defiantly marching into entrepreneurial victory despite economic shifts.  We refuse to be defeated.  We are the ones who will come out on the other side of this "recession" with huge bank accounts and huge smiles

Why?  Because we know the problem is NOT that there's a shortage of business.  Instead, there's a shortage of knowledge on how to attract the business....  knowledge on how to attract a steady flow of clients, customers, and revenue in this new economy.

So we show up wherever that knowledge exists... we see opportunity and we eagerly leap forward... with our sites set on massive success.  We band together to get there... We expand our connections, form strategic alliances and leave that "lone ranger" mindset in the dust...

We see this as a "new economy" not a "bad economy."  We choose to focus on opportunities and not on the bad news constantly being thrown at us...

Get ready...  this event is beyond exciting!  The buzz is building....  the energy is positively high.  And you're about to walk away bursting with life-changing, income-generating strategies for your business.

(Not only that... some of you will walk away with unannounced surprises worth thousands... to directly impact your business... shhhh, I can't say more about that right now though).

Plan on emerging from this event as a powerfully changed solo entrepreneur.  It's a once-in-a-lifetime.

Truly, I can't wait to meet you in October!  :-)

Here's How You Can Participate...

You can get involved in two ways:

  • Become a sponsor:  No cash required here either.  This is a unique event... Business NOT as Usual.  Rather than requesting a monetary donation, we are asking sponsors to donate their venue, their expertise (e.g., as a speaker, photographer, videographer etc.), or their resources.  If you'd like to become a sponsor, click here to apply for sponsorship.
